About MeI grew up as the oldest of three children. My dad was a career military officer and we moved every three years or so. I have lived in the South, the Midwest, Belgium, and Alaska. I graduated from Chugiak High School in Alaska.
I attended the University of South Dakota and transferred to Brigham Young University during my sophomore year. My undergraduate degree is in Recreation Management and Youth Leadership. I worked as recreational therapist at a skilled nursing facility. I also programmed and administered after school and summer programs for several years. I earned my teaching credentials from Utah State University. This will be my fifth year teaching at Hunter Junior High School. I am currently the department chair for the Special Education department. I am also a part of the school MTSS team as well a mentor for new teachers. I have two children and a dog. My daughter is in 7th grade and my son is in 3rd grade. When I'm not teaching, I like to be at home hanging out with my kids or reading a good book. We also enjoy hiking, camping, swimming, boating, and watching movies and NCIS. |
